Laboratory testing

Machines for laboratory testing

Unlike what happens in industrial production, these tests focus on

  • individual parts
  • for research and development purposes
  • tests on new products or repairs.

In fact, the quality and safety of the product are checked, as well as its life cycle and electrical specifications. All the conformity tests are carried out on the specifications of the part in question, to assess the operating limits (voltage, insulation and temperature).

Risatti, attentive to the needs of this sector, has created a special range with numerous versions of machines for laboratory testing and numerous options made “to measure” for perfect customization of the tool dedicated to tests on motor stators, even high power ones, single-phase, three-phase with internally connected and unconnected phases and continuous; transformers, coils in general, both low and medium voltage, die-cast and wound rotors.

Other fundamental features on which Risatti has focused in designing its machines for laboratory testing are

  • the ease of use
  • value for money
  • accident-prevention safety.

Complete performance and strength are other basic features of these laboratory testing tools.

The H3 Series, a multifunction SURGE, is the flagship equipment of Risatti and it is dedicated to electrical laboratory tests. It is available from 6 to 60 kV. Typical test objects are coils, stators of single-phase/three-phase motors, DC motors, both wound and die-cast rotors and low and medium voltage transformers with phases both connected and not internally connected. Versions and numerous options allow easy customization of all equipment. Finally, the H3 series is particularly suitable for laboratory tests, for characterization of prototypes, for maintenance, repairers, rewinders, assistance, prevention or for testing of special small series.

The tests

The equipment, exclusively designed and manufactured by us, embraces the entire electromechanical and electrotechnical sector and the sectors related to preventive maintenance, repairs and rewinding.
Residual voltage test is used to detect the presence of residual voltage in a system, after the main source of power is disconnected.
The AC dielectric strength test is performed by setting an acceptability threshold of the maximum current.
Testing the electrical resistance of a winding is essential and is performed to measure the resistance of a winding.
The dielectric absorption ratio is important in the case of insulating materials in which the absorption current decreases rapidly.
Partial discharges (PD) are electrical discharges localized in the dielectric insulation, limited only to a part of the dielectric material.
